Armed Citizens in Tennessee

The escaped inmates from Georgia who murdered two corrections officers were caught today.

As they were chased by the police they attempted to seek shelter in a home... the owner had other ideas & a gun. He held them at gun point until his (armed) neighbor came to assist, they held them until the police got there & no one was shot. Responsible citizens save the day... again.

If you want to lay low, maybe pass on the eyebrow/throat tattoos.

Good guys with guns saves more lives than bad guys with gun… my opinion.

But do bad guys with guns kill more people than good guys save?

I think good guys with guns save more lives. A sample of that was recently at the congressional baseball game. If a good guy with a gun didn’t stop the bad guy… it would have been a massacre.
      .
Bad guys don’t stop shooting people until they are stopped by a good guy with a gun.
However, this doesn’t apply in Chicago during a week end. Good guys are restricted from having guns and the bad guys are shooting bad guys all the time.

That’s really hard to figure, when the bad guy kills someone, it tends to make a statistic somewhere. When a bad guy sees the gun & decides to do something else, there’s no statistic. When someone draws, but doesn’t fire their weapon to deter someone, there’s usually no statistic. The figure generally floated is somewhere around 3 million times a year that a gun stops a crime from happening.

One of the most disturbing statistics I saw was that when Australia made handguns very nearly inaccessible, sexual assaults went up by 29%. I don’t know if that number is pinpoint accurate or not, but I know that if there was an increase in stranger assaults, it probably had something to do with the reduced chance that she might be packing… reduced risks for bad behavior usually results in more bad behavior.
