Congress Moves

The Congress is trying to roll back regulations that prohibit media companies from controlling more than 39% of any regional media market. This is not populist & this is not good for the Republic, it will lead to more fake news & if Trump signs it he will have acted against the interests of those who elected him.

Well, something needs to be done about the lousy PC mass media!

This isn’t it. It’s just going to let the media becomes more of a mass. It seems to be happening to clear the way for Tribune & Sinclair to merge… Sinclair to acquire the Tribune.

The way that I see it, anything is better than what we have right now!

that’s simply not true, less independent media is definitely worse than what we have now.

The media is definitely not independent right now.
90%+ of the media is with the globalists and the alternative media is still rather weak, so I cannot see things getting any worse than right now!

This only pushes those numbers farther in the wrong direction. If we’re not real careful, soon Comcast will be allowed to “filter” fake news as it passes through their servers.

If Comcast does that it will lose all of its customers to AT&T and if they both do it, then there is another great reason for Trump to invest into a new digital highway (part of his Infrastructure Bill) that bypasses both of them…

The point is this results in more control in fewer hands, it’s only better IF you favor civil war as the route to your NAU.

              Conflict will take place regardless…

It’s still a question of if it has to escalate to war this time, eventually I think it must, I’d just rather not live to see it. I don’t like who I am when it’s time to fight. There’s still a chance that the same middle class that elected Trump can stand & hold the center… when forced to.

Once globalism fails (France et al) the alt-left will die rather quickly. The bigger problem will be the alt-right and the religious fanatics!
Either case, let us see what happens this weekend…

I’ve always felt the non-religious fanatics were more dangerous

Not really, because they have little to no backbone. So they are weak.

A handful of corporations already control almost all US media. That Congress is considering allowing even greater concentration suggests members of Congress have vested interests in those corporations. Isn’t Trump supposed to be draining the swamp?

      exactly my concern.

According to Al Gore, Congress cannot pass any law without permission of corporate interests.

He should know… the issue is he’s so ethically challenged that he could easily be lying or telling the truth as it might suit him.

This is one time when he was telling the truth. Everyone knows how corrupt the system is. Here’s what many politicians have admitted to:

All because the People have alternated between seeking to abuse the goodie basket & simply ignoring the problem.

““I had a nice talk with Jack Morgan [i.e., banker J.P. Morgan, Jr.] the other day and he seemed more worried about [Assistant Secretary of Agriculture Rexford] Tugwell’s speech than about anything else, especially when Tugwell said, ‘From now on property rights and financial rights will be subordinated to human rights.’ … The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson … The country is going through a repetition of Jackson’s fight with the Bank of the United Stated — only on a far bigger and broader basis.” — Franklin D. Roosevelt in a 1933 letter to Edward M. House. "
