Donor sues GOP for ‘fraud’ after it failed to repeal health care law

.

A Republican donor is sick over the GOP's inability to repeal Obamacare and now he wants his bucks back.

.

Former New Hampshire attorney Bob Heghmann, 70, has filed a lawsuit demanding that the Republican Party return his GOP donations, a week after John McCain cast the deciding vote against a bill to repeal and replace the ACA.

.

In the suit, Heghmann accuses the party of fraud and racketeering, saying it raised money on the promise of repealing the health care law while knowing it wouldn’t be able to overturn the ACA.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think this is a good idea.
.
I think this should be a class action lawsuit.  I want to know where I can sign up.  I donated to the Republican party.  I too want my money back.
.
They lied to me. Idiots like McCain voted for it before he voted against it.  This is Bullshit!
    Any Republican Brn who donated millions should join in as well. There’s no excuse or explanations on why this dude’s obamascare failed to be repealed.
      I absolutely agree! The fact that the Republicans failed to repeal this horrendous bill shows me that they don’t really care about the American people at all.
        Our Paul should of never planned to die. I’ll bet he’s reading this. I’ll bet he’ll return under a different screen name…like "customflores "?.
        I say keep at it as long as it takes.
        Mr. Trump said a few weeks ago about this dude’s obamascare will implode. As we all see so many jobs has been created which proves our President is setting our country back on the right track. He’s not wrong here so therefore Mr. Trump isn’t wrong about the implosion of obamascare. I say get it done.
          No one plans to die. As the Bible says, “it is appointed once for a man to die and then the judgement”. If Paul really died, he is not coming back. If Paul really died, he has far more to worry about then Thoughts. If Paul really died, he had to face God Almighty, and the choices he made while living.
            …if he really past away. I believe he didn’t.
            As we know liberals and the lies they produced want us all to live by and believe. Paul is/was or whatever is a true liberal.
            I can’t accept the fact queen wannabe Hillary lost and then Paul decides to die.
            Not trying to be insensitive but I’m having a tough time believing he’s dead. I feel he’s reading our posts or at another forum posting.
            If this woman would of prevailed his “I told you so” posts would continue.
            will…I respect your response and it’s spot on…however with these liberals,they will pull out all the stops to go against the Bible and what is truly right for us.
              Nothing would surprise me, especially from a Liberal. They lie when the truth is more believable. Liberals lie just to keep in practice. Liberals lie as a way of life. Liberals lie about anything an everything so, they may be lying about his death.
              No one can tell me he decides to die when President Trump won.
              Paul was warned by your posts and refused to accept the facts.
              I told Paul his threads against the Republican Party helped them right into new leadership. He knew the change was coming. All he needed to do was to accept the loss. We would of not said “I told you so”…well maybe we would.
    They got what they paid for… lies from lying assholes. Being so stupid as to believe they either would or could repeal and/or replace anything is totally on the individual. There are no guarantees and it’s all ‘buyer beware’ for whatever they’re advocating. I’m sure the Browns totally intended to win every game and have a shutout at the Super Bowl, and how’d that work out? Are the courts in Cleveland now overrun with suits claiming the Browns wasted the money of season ticket holders? Does every stock loss now get to come with a lawsuit because the company failed to meet promises? Absurd. This “suit” gets nowhere, and garners nothing for the plaintiff. “Donations” are at will and were not coerced. No guarantees were made and there’s no legal obligation beyond that. “A sore taint does not a lawsuit make.” ~FUall
      It’s not “buyer be ware” when the Liberals FORCE people to pander to Obamascare regardless of what they want or need. Buyer be ware would only apply IF buyers could actually choose what they bought, how much they spent and what it covered. Obama forced people to pander to his fantasies, his “signature legislation” and his decision about what should and should not be covered.
        As usual, you are free to believe whatever crazy fits your narrative, but that doesn’t really impact reality. No one was forced to donate no matter what you say or what argument you try to turn this into. That anyone actually buys into campaign rhetoric as serious policy is itself pathetic, let alone the need to seek legal and financial restitution for ones feelings being hurt because they didn’t get what they wanted. Waaah! Wa-wa-wa-waaah! I say “suck it up pussies!” (And the courts will too.) The best those taint-traumatized losers will be able to do is deduct it from their taxes as appropriate for their situation. Like everyone else.
        August 05, 2017
        1. willsblog
          Ah so, Obamascare isn’t forced on anyone? There wasn’t a fine, penalty or tax for those who didn’t have coverage? I think the facts show quite differently than what you are claiming. “Crazy”? Is it “crazy” that Obama’s cronies were exempted from Obamacare? If it was so “good” why would anyone be exempted from it? Why are so many people calling for a repeal of his “signature legislation”? Why are the insurance companies pulling out? Why is it that so many states have one insurance company that complies with the regulations and all others have pulled out? Why would there be penalties for not having insurance? Why would Obamacare be forced on everyone? Why is it that Obama promised repeatedly that everyone could keep both their doctor AND health insurance policy when he knew that it was a blatant lie? Why would certain policies that didn’t meet HIS requirements be cancelled? Yes, YOU may call it “crazy” but the truth isn’t “crazy” at all, it’s horrendous!
      Yeah I don’t see suing the GOP, I can see a little more traction if you were to sue an individual lawmaker who had voted to repeal when there was no chance & now that it could happen refuses to honor their promises. Still the remedy for that isn’t a lawsuit, it’s not re-electing them. I think the House could even impeach a Senator who has acted in bad faith, but I doubt it’d go past that.
        There’s way too much emotional investment in these singular issues for people to be able to think coherently. Zero to ‘kill a fucker’ in 2.3 seconds with no room for anything approaching reality. Everyone these days seems to have a pathological need for someone else to be responsible for how they feel at any given moment, and to make that someone pay when that feeling isn’t the happiest moment of their miserable lives. Spineless pussies unwilling to face reality and take responsibility for their own choices.
            Same with socialism. The companies are most of the time privately owned. But when they are mandated (run) by the government, it’s no longer capitalism.
            .
            Capitalism means letting private companies run a business they way they want to with no to less gov. intervention. Let them succeed or fail without interruption or help.
              What Is Single Payer Healthcare?
              The United States is the only country in the developed world that does not guarantee access to basic health care for residents. Countries that guarantee health care as a human right do so through a “single-payer” system, which replaces the thousands of for-profit health insurance companies with a public, universal plan.
              Does that sound impossible to win in the United States? It already exists – for seniors! Medicare is a public, universal plan that provides basic health coverage to those age 65 and older. Medicare costs less than private health insurance, provides better financial security, and is preferred by patients (Davis, 2012). Single-payer health care is often referred to as “Expanded & Improved Medicare for All.”
              .
              Under the single-payer legislation in Congress (H.R. 676):
              .
              Everyone would receive comprehensive healthcare coverage under single-payer;
              Care would be based on need, not on ability to pay;
              Employers would no longer be responsible for health care costs and coverage decisions;
              Single-payer would reduce costs by 24%, saving $829 billion in the first year by cutting administrative waste and allowing negotiation of prescription drugs (Friedman, 2013); and
              Single-payer would create savings for 95% of the population. Only the top 5% would pay slightly more. (Friedman, 2013)
              .
              now herr brn
              where do those those age 65 and older.( Medicare) patients go
              to their family doctor…just like up here
              their family doctor who owns his own practice, or works for another who owns the practice
    Ken Norton pointed out in an emotional Twitter thread that went viral Monday, even well-off families like his can face devastating medical tragedies. Norton, a Google veteran and a mainstay of the Silicon Valley circuit since the first dot-com era, shared a story about his late son, Riley, who was born with a preexisting heart condition and died before he turned 12. Norton notes he was lucky to have had great insurance through his employer, and that for the next 11 years after Riley’s birth, nothing was more important to him than keeping his insurance.
    .
    “His multiple heart surgeries and hospitalizations rang up more than $3 million in bills, all of which were paid by my insurer … Who came through my employer and was required to cover me, and could not deny him due to preexisting condition. No annual or lifetime max,” Norton writes. “We focused on giving him a happy life instead of bankruptcy, GoFundMes, or taking second or third jobs that would take us away from him. Even then, our lives were upended. I wanted to start a company, or join a very early stage startup. I could not risk losing coverage. Nor could I purchase it myself due to his preexisting condition. Even the 18 months of COBRA scared the hell out of me. When a family member is this severely sick, even the tiniest chance of going without health coverage is terrifying and means bankruptcy. But here’s the thing: there are no ‘healthy’ and ‘sick’ people. Healthy people can turn into sick people really fucking suddenly.”
    Ants take care of each other the way pilgrim folks did when they came on the Mayflower. It was a Christian tradition that made our country great. Liberals consider that tradition backward. They prefer forcibly spreading the wealth: from each American winner his best ability to meet the needs of losers both foreign and domestic.
