I've been thinking about the things that "are racist" not because they are, but because someone decides they are offended by them. There's a flag, there's compliments mistaken for "micro-aggression," cultural appropriation, clubs that exclude "them", wanting to join "their" clubs & sooo much more.
Today I drove past a VA State Trooper & I realized that our troopers are ALL in racist cars & on racist motorcycles. They are painted Blue & Grey, the same color as the Army of Northern Virginia's uniforms. I am surprised I have yet to hear this argument, I wonder how long it'll be before I hear it from someone else.
Micro agression is the one that gets me the most out of all the claims of racism. I have been told I'm articulate, I didn't think they were surprised because of my sex or skin color, "articulate" is simply a fading skill & those who appreciate it are inclined to be thankful when someone is. People tend to remark on exceptional attributes & they are not making a snarky statement about every other person of any color when they compliment you. "You're not bad for a white boy." If I had a dollar for everytime I'd heard that, I'd have enough of them to buy me a nice if not luxurious car... maybe some rims too. ;)
