Treasury Secretary Jack Lew did not give a straight answer to Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace about how many people signed up for Obamacare.
Lew: “It’s the wrong question, We know that people take time to make important decisions like this. They go on, they compare their options. The fact that so many millions of people rushed to get information is a good sign.”
Wallace: “I’m going to ask you one last time time, Do you not know how many people have signed up, which would seem to indicate another major software glitch, or is it that the number is embarrassing small?”
Do you seriously think that the Obama administration would be this silent if thousands were signing up?
In order for Obamacare to work, the younger generation needs to sign up. Young people typically don’t, largely because they think that they don’t need them. I also think that people are worried about giving out their sensitive information to an intrusive government. Not to mention that young people are living paycheck to paycheck. They can't even afford another $100 dollars a month.
Also, Obamacare can't depend on the penalty.. The only way it can be collected is the IRS seizes your tax refund. People who don't pay taxes are unaffected. Even people who do can adjust their withholding so there is no refund. That has the added advantage of not giving the government an interest free loan. So there is no penalty.
No Republican voted for Obamacare. Because we knew this was going to happen. We so totally knew. Obama was elected by dreamy eyed utopian idealist liberals who thought the rich were going to pay for all this. Obama was it.. he was their chosen one.. now they're getting sticker shock.... realizing this is the law of the land. They were sold a bill of goods.
